As many gaming fans would likely attest, Call of Duty: WW2 was one of the best shooter games of 2017 thanks to Activision and Sledgehammer Games providing the title with a solid amount of base content to tide players over until its post-launch materials became available. Now, the publisher and developer are set to give fans of the first-person shooter even more to do with the announcement of an "Attack of the Undead!" community event.

As seen in the trailer below, Call of Duty: WW2's Attack of the Undead event appears to be the largest one introduced into the title thus far, by bringing three new game modes into the fold, which which includes Infected, Hordepoint – that is, a variation on Hardpoint – and Relic of the Undead. What's more is that there will even be a brand new limited-time multiplayer map made available called Groesten Haus.

In addition to all of the aforementioned content being brought about in Call of Duty: WW2's Attack of the Undead community event, Activision and Sledgehammer Games will also be adding seven new weapons for players  to use. As far as firearms are concerned, these include the Nambu Type 2 submachine gun, the Blunderbuss shotgun, the Stinger light machine gun, the Lever Action sniper rifle, and PTRS-41 sniper rifle. The new melee weapons will be the Fire Ax and a sword dubbed Claymore.

Call of Duty: WW2's Attack of the Undead community event runs from May 29 until June 26, so fans of the first-person shooter ought to have plenty of time to check out all of the fresh wares being incorporated into the game. Without a doubt, it will surely give those looking for some more undead action beside the title's Nazi Zombies DLC some additional bang for their buck.

Call of Duty: WW2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
