Call of Duty: WW2 may feature just 10 multiplayer maps at launch, if rumored hidden menus within the PC open beta‘s client are to be believed. A Redditor named Trevormine posted a series of screenshots taken from what he claims was a “bugged” menu list. The open beta client apparently bugged as Trevormine exited a match and attempted to load into a new map. He was then able to access a “Map Select” menu that showed 10 total maps.

Naturally, this map list is completely unofficial and unconfirmed. Even Trevormine’s account of stumbling into a bugged menu system seems questionable. There’s a chance the entirety of his account is made up, and even if it is true more maps could always be added prior to Call of Duty: WW2‘s launch. That said, there’s a chance that this is indeed the final list of multiplayer launch maps for Call of Duty: WW2.

Among the 10 maps are the 4 that have been featured in Call of Duty: WW2‘s closed and open betas so far: Pointe du Hoc, Ardennes, Gibralter, and Aachen. A fifth map, Flak Tower, was featured at Gamescom 2017. The five remaining maps have yet to be revealed, and interestingly¬†appear to have not yet been named by Sledgehammer either. They go by shorthand filenames in the menus: Battleship, Cannon Farm, Carentan, France Village, and London.

Call of Duty WW2 Features 10 Multiplayer Maps - Ardennes

Trevormine wasn’t able to explore any of the new maps, instead trying out the new Gridiron sports mode on Ardennes. It’s likely that trying to open any of the new maps would simply crash his client. The list will have to do for now.

Discussion regarding the potential revelation among the Call of Duty community has been controversial. 10 maps at launch is going to be a low point for the franchise, one which fans don’t view as a positive change. One of the 10 maps is even rumored to be a Pro Edition exclusive, meaning that most players may even be limited to 9 maps. Call of Duty‘s been criticized in the past for the way it limits access to maps through premium map packs, but Call of Duty: WW2 may accelerate that controversy.

Call of Duty: WW2 releases on November 3 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
