Call of Duty: Warzone is getting a big update when Modern Warfare Season 6 arrives, but the contents of Treyarch’s first update to the mode may have just been revealed. In a Warzone post on the Activision blog, a member of Treyarch’s most popular Zombies crew can be seen in the header image.

While Warzone will soon make Nikolai from the Modern Warfare series playable, another Nikolai may be joining the roster of playable characters. Nikolai Belinski appears to be seen within the center of the image, and while only the character’s back can be seen, the outfit is unmistakable. With the classic Russian tanker hat and some extremely similar body armor, it is hard to not see this character entering the subway as the younger version of Nikolai from the Primis crew.

This could always be a troll on the part of Activision, however, as it could just be an alternate costume for Modern Warfare’s Nikolai when he arrives alongside Warzone’s new subway tunnels. After all, the outfit is not exact, with the green short under the character’s body armor differing from the grey one usually worn by the protagonist. Still, on first glance, it is hard not to think that the figure in the screenshot is Primis Nikolai.

This news comes at an interesting time, as another leak for Warzone Zombies recently came in the form of audio files. With Zombies possibly set to enter the massive Warzone map, now would be an excellent time to introduce operators perfect for slaying the undead horde. Nikolai would be one of the most requested characters to join the lineup, likely only behind Richtofen and Dempsey, so it makes plenty of sense for him to appear in Warzone soon.

As for traditional Call of Duty: Zombies, Treyarch will be returning to the mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. While the teaser for the next take on the mode initially looked a bit different, with a player fumbling through the darkness holding only an M1911 and a flashlight, this is likely only the journey to turn the power on. After the switch is flipped, many of the classic Zombies elements hidden throughout the teaser will likely come into play.

With an official map released for Warzone’s subway tunnels and a rumored Zombie Royale mode on the way, Warzone fans are certainly being treated well by Activision and the Call of Duty teams. If this rumor turns out to be true, Zombies fans may also be getting an extra surprise very soon.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
