Alongside consistent balance changes and new content additions in Call of Duty: Warzone, fans can also expect the battle royale title’s playlists to rotate on a weekly basis. Unfortunately, the Call of Duty: Warzone fan base is not pleased with the latest lineup.

These are hardly the only playlist-related complaints that Call of Duty: Warzone fans have sent in Raven’s direction. In fact, just recently, there was a major push for a Rebirth Island solo playlist. While one was available shortly after the map released, it has not been seen since, something that has disappointed fans that like to drop in on their own. Still, while this is a topic the community is passionate about, it does not compare to the outrage seen with this week’s playlists.

While Call of Duty: Warzone’s new RAAL LMG got fans excited, the realization that traditional battle royale playlists had been removed shocked the player base. Solos, Duos, Trios, and Quads were all taken out of the game, meaning that those who prefer a normal battle royale experience have no options at all this week. This is an odd decision, as usually there is at least one playlist that keeps the normal setup intact. However, every playlist has been swapped with Buy Back variants this week, and players like Bio-Shocked are speaking out.

Call of Duty: Warzone fans dislike Buy Back because of the one thing that makes it different from the normal battle royale playlists. Once players are dead, and even after they have been wiped out in the Gulag, they can still buy themselves back into the match if they have enough money. As pointed out by Bio-Shocked, this style is strange and not for everyone, as it ruins the flow of a normal battle royale match. The fan also makes the great point that Rebirth Resurgence already exists for those that like that style of gameplay, so forcing everyone to experience it is odd.

As pointed out by Redditor Datmusclebrah in the comments, the Buy Back variant is “chaotic” and the “timing and pacing of everything is off.” They also feel that, while the mode would be fine for a Call of Duty: Warzone event, it should never be the only choice players have if they want to play on Verdansk 84. Hopefully, Raven Software has heard this criticism, though the soonest that changes will likely be made is the playlist update for next week.

For now, players will have to either take a break from Call of Duty: Warzone or put up with the Buy Back playlists. Despite all the positive feedback around the most recent Call of Duty: Warzone bans, a lot of the positivity has quickly faded due to this frustrating playlist lineup.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
