With Call of Duty: Warzone being a first-person shooter, nothing is more important to playing well than mastering the game’s arsenal of weapons. Unfortunately, a recent Call of Duty: Warzone bug is making gun skill pointless, as players are unable to fire off their weapons at all.

This is sadly just the latest in a long string of Call of Duty: Warzone bugs. Recent examples of issues include a visual glitch that sees players punished for using a specific bundle as well as an issue that sees some gamers transforming into a giant floating head. This is in addition to Call of Duty: Warzone’s vehicle health being broken, making helicopters and trucks a pain to destroy. However, all these issues pale in comparison to being unable to use weapons in the battle royale title.

The bug in question was found by a Call of Duty: Warzone player who goes by @ProRebornYT, and it is just as problematic as it sounds. The player shared a clip of the bug in action, which sees them being flashed by an enemy and attempting to fire their weapon in response. Unfortunately, nothing happens, and they can be seen holding their controller up to the camera and pressing the trigger down repeatedly. Clearly frustrated, the player shouted “hello” and started telling their teammates that the weapons they were using were completely ineffective.

In the footage, the player can be seen swapping between a few different Call of Duty: Warzone weapons, proving that the issue is not tied to one specific gun. They can move and swap items normally as well, so it seems unlikely that the issue is tied to their controller. For whatever reason, the player is simply unable to fire their gun, stuck waiting for the bug to fix itself or the next match to begin. Given how quickly this issue can ruin the fun of the game, fans can only hope that this is an isolated incident and the glitch does not happen to them.

It is worth noting that the bug in question does not only restrict the game's guns, but melee attacks as well. In the comments, another Twitter user joked that @ProRebornYT should just “get good” and try going melee only, though the pro player was quick to respond that melee attacks were also not useful. Perhaps the game’s Ricochet anti-cheat system accidentally mistook @ProRebornYt for being a cheater, activating a version of the damage shield and locking his weaponry for the remainder of the match. Regardless, this bug is both fascinating and frustrating.

For now, all fans can do is hope that Raven Software finds the cause and fixes the issue sooner rather than later. If the problem becomes more widespread, Call of Duty: Warzone could become impossible to play.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
