Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Warzone has been incredibly popular since launch. However, the influx of players had led to the discovery of many glitches and exploits, like with other titles in the long-running first-person shooter series. On Monday Infinity Ward announced it banned 70,000 players while working on improving in-game security measures and reporting capabilities because of a "zero tolerance" policy for cheaters.

One particularly flashy and overpowered exploit that has surfaced around the same time as the banning announcement is players managing to get behind level geometry so they can attack while shielded by one-way walls in different buildings throughout Call of Duty: Warzone. A Reddit user named Cheeky-Bean uploaded a video to the r/CODWarzone subreddit yesterday showcasing the jarring disparity between their seemingly random death and a killcam with other players running around inside the wall.

While Infinity Ward's banning announcement on Twitter said the developers would "share more details soon" regarding their efforts to stem cheating, there has been no comment on Cheeky-Beans post — which is strange given its staffs' propensity for talking to players when they are working on fixes to issues like platinum camo glare. A small patch was released for Modern Warfare and Warzone today that fixes a few minor issues like a bugged headgear display when using the "Brother's Keeper" skin as Azur, but nothing is said about game-breaking exploits like walking behind walls.

Infinity Ward art director Joel 'ArtPeasant' Emslie has recently acknowledged a bug in Warzone's Tavorsk District that prevents return fire at a particular building. However, this bug appears to be more of a minor nuisance compared to the unbalanced advantage provided by walking through walls.

The new Call of Duty battle royale has offered plenty of opportunities for players to accomplish impressive kills within the intended boundaries of play. One recent and creative kill saw a player ride their ATV into a third-story hallway to surprise their opponents.

That said fans of the game will undoubtedly get worn down by the existence of exploits as extreme as walking through walls and eventually start to fall off Call of Duty: Warzone. With the game having hit a milestone 50 million players last week, it would behoove Infinity Ward to get fixes to such issues out as soon as possible.

Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
