Call of Duty: Warzone recently kicked off its Halloween event, bringing plenty of horror-themed changes such as pumpkin heads, game modes, and outfits. One of the scary costumes added to Warzone is the horror movie killer Leatherface, and it seems like his addition to the game includes more than just a new skin.

The home of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre’s iconic character can be found on the updated Warzone map. When exploring the Farmland area, a haunting blue apparition of Leatherface can be seen lurking in the upper window of a large farmhouse. When players step inside the building, it becomes immediately clear that something is not right, as the sights and sounds within the house are unlike anything seen in Warzone thus far.

Players may stumble upon the house naturally when searching for Warzone’s Trick or Treat Boxes, though they will likely wish they had not done so when they see inside the horrifying building. Captured on video by Call of Duty player The Legendary Borac, Leatherface’s house is covered in blood and guts. Gory lumps of body parts can be found on the kitchen tables and counter, with blood splattered on the refrigerator. The carpets of the house are littered with even more blood, and while the home is visually unsettling, the sound design makes this easter egg truly special.

Terrifying music can be heard within the house, constantly playing as The Legendary Borac explores the rooms. The player soon discovers what happens when waiting around in the house for too long, however, as Leatherface’s chainsaw can be heard within the attic. As the Warzone fan approaches the steps and slowly works their way up to the attic, one might expect a confrontation with the horror movie icon. Players will not need to have their Pumpkin Punisher weapons ready when exploring the house, however, as the ghost fades away and the chainsaw audio ceases completely when The Legendary Borac reaches the source of the noise.

Still, even with no physical threat, Leatherface’s home is sure to spark fear in players looking for details in the Haunting of Verdansk. For fans who have enjoyed the Leatherface content in Modern Warfare thus far, claiming the special Texas Chainsaw Massacre calling card will certainly be worthwhile. Discovered through a special easter egg in the trailer for the Warzone Halloween event, the special calling card is completely themed around Leatherface just like his Farmland house.

It will be interesting to see if Warzone’s other playable killer, Jigsaw, will get the same love that Leatherface seems to be getting from Infinity Ward. Perhaps a special location on the map for the SAW killer already exists and has yet to be discovered, but even if it does, it has a lot to live up to if it wants to match the scares to be had in Leatherface’s house.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
