Over the past few weeks, this year's Call of Duty release has been the target of plenty of leaks, rumors, and speculation. While Activision has yet to comment, most information fans have seen seem to revolve around a reimaging of Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops. In fact, the most recent leak indicates that the game will actually be called Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. As Treyarch appears to be set to return to its roots, Call of Duty: Warzone may also factor into preparing the community for this year's game.

All of this recent information comes from Call of Duty leaker Okami, who kicked things off by posting a mock up of the box art for the heavily rumored 2020 game. However, while other outlets are starting to corroborate the information with their own sources, this latest leak also lines up with what players have begun to see inside of Call of Duty: Warzone and the recent opening of the bunkers.

Earlier this week, players discovered that Bunker 11 remained sealed even though the others could now be opened. However, players were able to glitch through the sealed doors using a drone and discover a large network of rooms including one that contained what appears to be a nuke. While the bunker remains shut, it appears that Raven Software and Infinity Ward have some interesting plans for the mode going forward.

Reports indicate that Warzone is going to be slowly teasing out Cold War related content over time. Part of this plan may have been discovered earlier by dataminers who stumbled into in-game models of Black Ops related content which is currently no where inside of Modern Warfare or Warzone. The classic RC-XD, remote controlled car strapped with explosives, and a Cold War inspired spy plane that looks curiously like the drone from the original Black Ops were discovered in the game's files.

Leaks are nothing new for the Call of Duty franchise as most rumors and speculation regarding the upcoming release typically picks up in the spring. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has also seen its fair share of leaks since it released back in October 2019 especially surrounding the wildly popular Warzone battle royale. Prior to its release earlier this year, many of the details surrounding the mode were out long before Activision was ready to talk about it. While these rumors should be taken with a grain of salt for now, there's at least a long and established pattern which does make these rumors seem a bit more plausible.
