The end of 2021 looks like it will be very exciting for Call of Duty: Warzone fans. When Call of Duty: Vanguard launches, a new Pacific-themed map will debut. With players having fought on Verdansk for well over a year, it should make for a nice change. The Call of Duty: Warzone anti-cheat system that will accompany this map should finally get rid of the hackers that have been plaguing the game, while the new weapons should shake up the meta significantly.

However, before all these big changes come, Call of Duty: Warzone fans have Season 6 to look forward to. Unlike Season 5, which many saw as a disappointment due to the lack of map changes, the final Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season is set to feature several additions. New weapons are coming, too, and while details are scarce, the fan favorite Haunting of Verdansk event will be dropping around Halloween. For those interested, here is everything coming to Call of Duty: Warzone in Season 6.

Call of Duty: Warzone’s Season 6 Map Changes And Gulag

Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5’s map additions were extremely limited, as the Numbers stations served as some of the only major additions to the map. However, Season 6 should prove a whole lot more interesting to those who look forward to an evolving map. Several new locations are being added, with others being heavily reworked.

As shown in the Season 6 intro cutscene, Adler has planted explosives in Verdansk to delay Stitch’s plan. This has seen part of the map destroyed, with fissures impacting the Stadium and Downtown areas. The former is now cut in half, with the sign in front taking heavy damage. As for the latter, a crane has fallen and some buildings have collapsed, something that should make a popular landing spot feel a whole lot more varied. New areas will apparently be able to explore, with less verticality seen as well.

New bunkers are being added to Verdansk, with Raven Software confirming that they will tease Call of Duty: Vanguard’s battle royale content. These buildings are dark and full of cover, with the area described as “a system of passageways” by Raven. As such, players should be able to traverse a fair distance in these bunkers, with good loot likely being available inside them. As such, it could be worth fighting through the World War 2-themed areas.

The final major point of interest is a returning classic. Before Verdansk is left behind, Raven is letting players go back to fighting in the original Gulag. A great callback to the mode’s early days, the Showers should offer a whole lot of nostalgia for those that have been playing since Call of Duty: Warzone launched. While the map will supposedly be a bit different, the official image shared thus far shows that it will still be very similar to what fans know and love.

Call of Duty: Warzone’s New Operators, Weapons, And Regiment Changes

The iconic Black Ops character Alex Mason will be the main Operator of Season 6. Mason will be available in the battle pass, and as shown in the Season’s intro cutscene, he was responsible for helping fix Adler’s mind. He’ll join them in his final fight with Stitch, and players can expect him to have some fun cosmetics to collect from the battle pass. The other Operator, named Fuze, will drop in-Season. He has prosthetic legs, with the villainous explosives expert being one of many playable Perseus operatives.

Season 6 is set to add five new weapons as well. The .410 Ironhide is a lever-action Shotgun reminiscent of the iconic Model 1887. The Grav, better known by many Black Ops fans as the Galil, will also feature in the battle pass. These guns will be unlocked at Tier 15 and Tier 31 respectively. A Battle Axe can be unlocked through an in-game challenge or bundle at launch as well. Later in the Season, the LAPA SMG and Hammer and Sickle Melee weapon can be unlocked through the same method.

It is also worth noting that Call of Duty: Warzone fans will lose access to Regiments this Season. The clan system is being frozen for a reason, though, as it is being reworked so that it is more satisfying. It will go offline after October 6 and come back online on November 5 with the launch of Call of Duty: Vanguard. Until then, players cannot benefit from happy hours or manage their regiments, though the wait will hopefully be worthwhile.

Call of Duty: Warzone’s Haunting of Verdansk Event

The final thing worth noting about Season 6, and likely the most exciting, is the return of Haunting of Verdansk. Currently, no details have been shared apart from the date it goes live. The event will start on October 19, and if it is anything like last year’s, there will be plenty to do. The Zombie Royale playlist may return, special crates with spooky rewards could be seen, and ghost-related easter eggs could he added to map once again. It will also be interesting to see if the nighttime version of Verdansk will be making a return. While it was popular with fans, it has not been seen since the previous Haunting event. With new locations available in Verdansk 84, it could be interesting to see a darker take on it.

There have also been some Halloween event leaks for Call of Duty: Warzone. In particular, a Ghostface Operator skin was one of the most discussed leaks, something that has seemingly been confirmed due to a quote referencing the Scream character in the Season 6 blog post. While this is certainly exciting news, there is plenty that fans do not know about the event, so they should keep an eye on the Call of Duty Blog for more info in the coming days. Still, based on what is known thus far, Season 6 seems like it will be good one.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
