A new update for Call of Duty: Warzone brings buffs and changes in for Season 2. Raven Software has released a patch for Call of Duty: Warzone which adds a variety of improvements to gameplay, modes, and weapons.

As a free-to-play battle royale in a popular series, this entry was bound to bring in players. In live-service titles, "seasons" provide a way for the developer to add in extra features and redefine the game's identity. Now, Raven Software updated the game for Season 2 that beginners will need tips to survive.

From the patch notes, it looks like there are going to be tweaks to gameplay. When it comes to gas mechanics, any soldiers remaining in the area will take more damage over time. Loot sees changes with two additional weapons, the FARA 83 Assault Rifle and the LC10 SMG. Unlocked Seasonal Challenges will now be available after the season ends and throughout future ones. The Battle Pass includes 100 new ranks, housing a unique Operator, cosmetics, and weapon blueprints.

According to the list, there are changes to the modes in Call of Duty: Warzone too. Raven Software is adding Resurgence Extreme which boosts player count to 90, and an Exfiltration mode that has fans securing a radio before escaping in an exfil chopper. With file sizes getting out of control those wanting the patch will first need to make sure space is available. On consoles, players are looking at a 17 GB download whereas on PC it is 16.9 - 20 GB. These are just some of the highlights from the update, but the full patch notes provide plenty of details of all the Season 2 changes.

No doubt fans of the battle royale will enjoy the extra content in Call of Duty: Warzone. With another Operator, new guns, and more game modes there is lot for players to dive into. Though not everyone will pick up the Battle Pass, those that do will have ranks and rewards to chase.

Granted, a Season 2 patch coming a year after release may not be soon enough for some. Plus, even with the bug fixes there could still be issues like crates spawning over the ocean. The space required for Call of Duty games has grown in recent entries, but almost 20 GBs for an update is a bit much. Nevertheless, it is packed with more activities and content so fans have a good reason to install the patch.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
