Season 2 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone 2 has been delayed to February 15. Season 1 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone 2 has been going on since November 16, so it's been quite a long wait for Season 2 content. But while Call of Duty fans are going to have to wait longer than expected to check out Season 2 for the first-person shooter games, it may very well be worth the wait.Along with confirming that Call of Duty Season 2 was being delayed, the official Call of Duty Twitter account teased what fans can expect from the new season when it does launch. While specifics are unavailable at this time, Call of Duty is promising "several changes" based on community feedback. As has been rumored for quite some time, a small size Resurgence map is coming to Call of Duty: Warzone 2 that will presumably be comparable in size to the popular Rebirth Island.

Call of Duty fans may be most interested in the new small-scale Warzone 2 map, but there's content on the way for the base Modern Warfare 2 game as well. Season 2 will see the introduction of ranked play, new multiplayer maps, new modes, new weapons, "and much more." Again, the post was light on specifics, but these details should be fleshed out in the weeks ahead.

There are plenty of classic Call of Duty maps that would be welcomed by the Modern Warfare 2 community with open arms, though others may be hungry for brand-new maps instead. So far, the maps added to Modern Warfare 2 post-launch have been fan favorites from previous games, with Shoot House added at the start of Season 1 and Shipment joining the lineup as part of Season 1 Reloaded. It would be nice to see a new high quality map join the fray, but Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 fans will have to hang tight for more information on that front.
