In its current state, Call of Duty: Warzone favors players who camp on rooftops with sniper rifles, especially when players utilize attachments like thermal scopes. While this style of play is fine for some players, others want more ways to combat rooftop campers in the game. With that in mind, Reddit user Rayledare has created a concept for a new item in Call of Duty: Warzone that would potentially solve the problem with rooftop campers.

Rayledare's idea for Call of Duty: Warzone is a grappling hook item that would allow players to get on top of buildings much faster and keep players from having to run up endless flights of stairs to reach the top. Rayledare's Call of Duty: Warzone grappling hook design states that players would be able to use Warzone's shotguns, rifles, SMGs, and pistols while mantling, and that it would make a sound to give rooftop campers a chance to retaliate.

As far as how players would get a grappling hook in Warzone, Rayledare explains that the grappling hook would spawn on the Warzone map for players to collect. Alternatively, players could choose to spend $2,000 at the Warzone shop for a grappling hook. The catch is that the grappling hook could only be used one time, so players would have to keep that in mind when developing strategies around it.

The Warzone grappling hook idea has received some positive feedback from the community, but others have pointed out some flaws with it. One Reddit user pointed out that the grappling hook concept would just lead to more people camping on rooftops than before as it gives them more ways to get on them. Meanwhile, another user expressed doubt that Infinity Ward would be able to pull off the "sound mechanic" as Warzone has notorious footstep sound problems that are currently plaguing the game.

In the current Warzone game, there are a few different ways for players to get on rooftops. They can run up multiple flights of stairs, use the elevator (though this comes at the risk of being blown up by a claymore), or fly to the top of roofs using one of the Warzone helicopters. So even without a grappling hook, there are still multiple ways for Warzone players to get to the roofs if needed.

It remains to be seen if Infinity Ward ever adds a grappling hook to Warzone or a similar item. Some changes to the battle royale are expected to come with the Modern Warfare Season 3 update, though, so fans should stay tuned to see exactly what's coming to the game in the near future.
