The next big wave of new content for Call of Duty: Warzone is here, and there is a lot to take in. Players get access to new Operators, a brand-new map, and a new game mode. The new game mode is called Resurgence, and it changes the way that Call of Duty: Warzone players are going to take on enemy teams.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season One is finally on its way. Come December 16, players will have a new Battle Pass, new multiplayer modes, new weapons, and several new Operators. There are also new zombies, new vehicles, and the new Warzone mode Resurgence. This new mode will take place on the new Warzone map Rebirth Island and introduces a new way to revive players.

For this game mode, it seems the Gulag is closed. The Call of Duty: Warzone Gulag is undergoing changes this season, so players will have a different death experience in this new lobby. Rather than trying to win a Gulag match and return to whichever teammates are still alive, players have to spectate their allies and hope that they can survive long enough to get the dead player back in a special way.

The new feature in Resurgence is called the Rebirth Countdown. When this timer expires, all players with surviving teammates get redeployed. This means that as along as one member of a Quad, Trio, or Duo can stay alive until the timer expires, the entire team will get revived to continue the fight. Money that is normally spent on reviving allies can now be redirected to purchasing defensive tools in order to keep living and revive the party.

The mechanic that fuels this new change is what happens when a player takes out an enemy. In the Resurgence game mode, the player will get a glimpse of where the target’s Warzone allies are located. This means that players can take out one opponent and discover where the rest of the team is so that they can be hunted down and eliminated as well. Rather than in previous games where it doesn’t always matter if the entire enemy team is wiped out, players now need to make sure they eliminate the entire party or else the missing members will simply redeploy and seek revenge.

This is only the first wave of new content for Call of Duty: Warzone, but it changes the game in a big way. The focus on taking out entire teams might change the way some people play the game, either for better or worse. Players will have to check it out and decide for themselves once it goes live in a few days.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
