A Call of Duty: Warzone player has brought to the game an iconic scene from Rambo: First Blood Part 2. U/Qlkov shared on the CODWarzone subreddit a clip of them taking to the newly added CIA headquarters and lighting it up with light machine gun fire just like Rambo does in the film.

Call of Duty: Warzone's Season 3 Reloaded patch is the reason why this clip is possible. Its focus on 1980s action has brought new points of interest, weapons, and two new operators movie fans should be very familiar with: John Rambo and John McClane. The points of interest replicate locations in movies and allow players the chance to recreate iconic moments such as this one. The scene being recreated is a moment in which Rambo returns to headquarters and vents his frustrations with the CIA through a shooting spree.

U/Qlkov's clip starts similarly as the original movie moment. Both Rambo and u/Qlkov enter the CIA headquarters with their guns drawn and proceed to go off on the various computers, filing cabinets, and other office materials with dozens and dozens of bullets. Call of Duty: Warzone does a good job simulating some of the destruction from the movie but the emotion of the scene, understandably, doesn't ring the same. But what makes the Warzone edition work so well is that u/Qlkov has Rambo: First Blood Part 2 running simultaneously and the two line up almost perfectly.

This clip is exactly what the developers of the patch were intending when they decided to do a throwback/tribute to 1980s action movies. Even though the film being replicated came out decades ago, the characters and scenes still resonate with people today. And this is just the latest appearance for Rambo who was recently brought to Mortal Kombat 11.

The only thing that would improve this clip would be if there was more destructible scenery in Call of Duty: Warzone. But, even noting that, u/Qlkov does a great job matching their clip with the original and bringing it back to life in a cool tribute. It is moments such as this one that make updates that pay tribute to the past a great addition to most games. The nostalgia and the fact that players can recreate or even reimagine scenes in-game is why it works wonders.

But it doesn't always play out like this and sometimes throwbacks can feel out of place or feel as though the developers were taking an easy route with this patch to Call of Duty: Warzone. Then again in this instance the update provides new content, new maps, and new places to explore and discover. Whether players enjoy 1980s action movies or not, new content is usually a good thing for the whole community.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
