A week after its release, Call of Duty: Warzone has become a massive hit with fans of the series and battle royale shooters. Although Warzone has some changes making it more similar to titles like Fortnite, the game still runs on the same progression as Modern Warfare while sharing many weapons and features with the main series. Keeping that in mind, one returning feature that veteran Call of Duty players should be familiar with are the customizable perks.

Perks are a multiplayer feature which has been part of the series since Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in 2007, providing passive gameplay effects. In Warzone, perks have gone through slight changes from their 2019 Modern Warfare counterparts, but work mostly the same in customizing different playstyles. This guide will list all 18 perks split between 3 categories while noting which ones give the best advantage to players.

Perk 2 (Red) Details

Overkill - A player can carry two primary weapons but cannot equip secondary weapons nor two of the same weapon.

Restock - Recharge equipment over 50 seconds. Throwing knives recharge 1 extra knife while decoy grenade and stim recharge twice as fast.

Hardline - Pay 25-percent less for killstreaks, field upgrades, and armor plates at the kiosk.

High Alert - Player vision pulses when enemies outside their field of view see them.

Ghost - Undetectable by UAVs, Radar Drone, or Heartbeat Sensors. Players still appear on the killstreak radar when firing a weapon, and are detectable by an Advanced UAV but removes direction.

Pointman - All members of the player's team earn more money from completed missions.

Perk 3 (Yellow) Details

Amped - Faster weapon swap and rocket launcher reload speed, but does not affect swapping to pistols or knives. Most equipment is used faster.

Shrapnel - Spawn with an extra piece of lethal equipment. Explosive damage delays enemy health regeneration by 3 seconds.

Tune Up - Reduce player revive time by 25-percent.

Battle Hardened - Reduce the strength of flash, stun, and EMP effects used by enemies.

Spotter - See enemy equipment, field upgrades, and killstreaks through walls.

Tracker - Enemies leave behind a footprint trail. See markers at enemy death locations and hide the death markers of enemies players kill.

The Best Warzone Perks

  1. Overkill (Red) equips players with two primary weapons in their loadout which is essential since the early game is much more important in Warzone than normal Call of Duty.
  2. Ghost (Red) is a late-game alternative since it hides the player from enemy UAVs which are out in force at that point.
  3. High Alert (Red) alternatively gives a heads-up that a sniper has the squad in their sites or an ambush is about to happen.
  4. Cold-Blooded (Blue) is essential since most players will be using thermal scopes in their loadouts.
  5. E.O.D. (Blue) gives welcome damage resistance to explosives and fire.
  6. Tune Up (Yellow) can be a great perk if the player's squad is constantly going around fighting.
  7. Tracker (Yellow) allows players to spot enemies without other types of recon and cover their own tracks.
