Call of Duty: Warzone has featured the Verdansk battle royale map since its launch, but that's changing soon. Call of Duty: Warzone is gearing up to get rid of Verdansk and pave the way for a brand new map in the form of the Pacific map, Caldera, set to launch on December 8 with a World War 2 theme to match Call of Duty: Vanguard.

The Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera map coincides with the launch of Season 1 of the Warzone and Vanguard integration. This means that Call of Duty: Warzone players can expect an influx of new Vanguard weapons and items along with the new map on December 8. All of this is no doubt exciting for Call of Duty: Warzone players, but what fans are most excited about is being able to jump into a brand new battle royale map.

Activision has finally pulled the curtain back on the Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific map completely, showing Caldera in all its glory for the first time. This includes all of the different Points of Interest that Call of Duty: Warzone players will be able to check out come Caldera's launch, so fans can start planning ahead when it comes to where they'll be dropping with their squad.

Fans won't have a comprehensive idea of the Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific map's size until they are actually able to jump into Caldera themselves, but it looks like it will be roughly the same size as Verdansk. It looks as though it will definitely be big enough to keep fan interest for a long period of time, though the jury is still out as to whether or not the map will be as compelling or popular as Verdansk has been over the last year and a half.

In the meantime, Activision has detailed some other changes coming to Call of Duty: Warzone with the debut of the Pacific map. For example, if players win their Gulag match and respawn into the game, they will still have the weapons they used in the Gulag equipped. Previously, Call of Duty: Warzone players leaving the Gulag were at a massive disadvantage because they would come back into the action with only a pistol, which was often a death sentence late in a match.

Call of Duty: Warzone won't be adding swimming with the Pacific map, but players will now be able to wade through shallow pools of water. Call of Duty: Warzone players will have to wait and see how this and all the other changes play out, but luckily the wait is almost over.

Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
