Night mode appears to be coming to Call of Duty: Warzone. Many rumors have circulated about a night mode in the past, but it looks like Infinity Ward is once again listening to requests and recommendations from the player community, following a data leak in the latest Warzone update.

It's not the first time players are hearing about a night mode within the game. For a short period of time, Modern Warfare night mode was once available in select multiplayer maps, such as Azhir Cave and Hackney Yard. While this multiplayer game mode was highly anticipated, it left some players disappointed due to the changes in basic game mechanics, such as the required use of night vision goggles and lasers.

This time, the anticipation will turn to Warzone's Verdansk. Following the Call of Duty Season 5 Reloaded update, some players chose to dig through the added files of the game in hopes to find clues to content that will be activated in the near future. Included in the files were signs for a new "Nightfall" game mode, where players will be dropping into a late night version of Verdansk, illuminated by only the moon and lights on the map. Referencing the leaked files again, it looks like night mode will be available for solos, duos, trios, and quads.

Fans have been buzzing about a potential night mode in Warzone for some time now. The short-lived release of night mode multiplayer maps teased players into thinking that there was more to come, and some fans even created mock pictures of Warzone in night mode. Players will be patiently waiting for night mode to release, granting them a whole new experience to the blockbuster battle royale game.

All of the anticipation and hype for night mode will of course be brought with many questions and criticism from the community. Players are already raising concerns about things like no optical glint for sniper rifles and the possible required use of night vision goggles. Other concerns are circulating around the new night mode influencing more campers. Some fans think the darkness will prompt more players to camp in certain areas, rather than move around the map to search for contracts and enemy teams. Overall, the anticipation is fairly positive for night mode, with many players saying Infinity Ward is doing a great job of adding new game modes, such as the upcoming Warzone King Slayer Mode.

The official release of Warzone night mode is still unconfirmed, but based off previous data leaks within updates, players can expect to see it go live in the very near future. In the meantime, there is a ton of new content and playable modes available in the Season 5 Reloaded Update, including the "Games of Summer" playlist. Players are also patiently waiting for the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War official reveal, which is rumored to be an in-game event involving Warzone. The reveal will take place on August 26.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
