Call of Duty: Warzone fans are continuing to enjoy an open meta, with new guns constantly becoming viable thanks to the game’s updates. One of the newest weapons to get a push is the XM4 Assault Rifle, as loadout NICKMERCS has shared a build with Call of Duty: Warzone fans.

While the gun may not be as strong as the pre-nerf MG 82, it has been given a boost due to the buff to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War attachments. This change has seen a lot of good weapons becoming great, adding even more variety to the battle royale game. One of the guns that really got a boost was the XM4, and NICKMERCS has wasted no time sharing his setup for the gun. According to the pro player, it is already “making its way to the top of [his] list," beating out a good portion of the game's SMGs and Assault Rifles.

A renamed version of the Commando from the original Call of Duty: Black Ops, the gun had struggled to shine before the recent attachment buff. However, there is now a lot to praise about it, with NICKMERCS highlighting how comfortable the weapon feels to use. He also praises its TTK, the most important stat in Call of Duty: Warzone. Lastly, he mentions its solid ammo count and impressive mobility, with each of these strengths coming together to create a more balanced weapon option.

First and foremost, NICKMERCS stresses that a sight should be used for an XM4 loadout in Call of Duty: Warzone. While the popular Axial Arms 3x optic could work, the pro instead uses a Microflex LED. This is because he uses Assault Rifles and SMGs as secondary weapons, backing up a primary weapon like a Sniper Rifle or LMG. As is the case with a majority of his loadouts, he recommends the Agency Suppressor due to its recoil control and ability to keep gamers off the mini-map.

With the FaZe co-owner not using a barrel for the gun, as he wants a close range weapon, a slot is freed for the Tiger Team Spotlight. This laser increases reveal distance, letting him see enemies that are further away. For a stock, he recommends the Raider Pad, as it further expands upon the gun’s great mobility. Finally, players should equip the STANAG 60 Rnd magazine, as having a massive clip size is always worth whatever drawbacks come with it.

  • Optic: Microflex LED
  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight
  • Stock: Raider Pad
  • Magazine: STANAG 60 Rnd

For any Call of Duty: Warzone fans looking to try out a new gun, the XM4 seems like a terrific choice. With NICKMERCS claiming players that do not experiment with it are “missing out,” his appreciation for the Assault Rifle is very clear.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
