Call of Duty: Warzone will supposedly be changing in some major ways once the next mainline Call of Duty game arrives. While many are excited to see what is next for the battle royale, it seems like Call of Duty: Warzone pro NICKMERCS is a bit more worried than he is excited.
The main change that NICKMERCS seems to be doubtful of is the leaked planes. Found in the code for the game, the FaZe co-owner specifies that the “planes with a turret” could be frustrating. He then goes on to mention the time when Epic Games added planes to Fortnite, saying “nah” in response to the feature coming to Call of Duty: Warzone. He wishes Raven luck in making the feature enjoyable, as the planes in Fortnite were heavily disliked by most players. Destroying structures with ease, someone could easily ruin a fight by flying overhead.
As of now, it remains to be seen if Call of Duty: Warzone’s planes are going to be balanced or unfair. The addition of a lethal air vehicle will be relatively new for the game, as only one other attempt has been made. The attack helicopter was added and removed from the game on two separate occasions, as players used a turret glitch to go invisible and get cheap wins. As such, players were unable to really judge how good or bad the addition was, making NICKMERCS’ concerns fair.
Outside of the planes, NICKMERCS seems to be particularly concerned about Call of Duty: Warzone’s new map. While some fresh points of interest will surely be interesting, the pro seems to be uninterested in a return to World War 2. This stance is certainly shared by some fans, as some gamers simply prefer modern settings. There is also something to be said about all the technology and weaponry that is currently in the game being modern. If the new map truly does boast a World War 2 aesthetic, everything else could look out of place.
It is worth noting that the Call of Duty: Warzone loadout expert was excited about other portions of the leaks, however. Specifically, he is excited about the addition of new weaponry, an opinion that makes sense given how much he focuses on guns in his videos and streams. He also sees the rumored event that will reveal the 2021 game as a positive, an opinion that will likely be shared by many due to how memorable the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War reveal was.
Still, with planes and a jump to World War 2 being a lot more permanent than a reveal event, the positives could outweigh the negatives for NICKMERCS. Hopefully, Raven Software finds a way to keep the planes balanced and make the new map appealing to all gamers.
