In the NFL and sports world, there are plenty of insiders who fight to be the first to break the news on free-agent signings, trades, and more. Especially leading up to trade deadlines and during the free agency period for various sports, there are fans who tend to refresh the Twitter pages of some of the leagues' best insiders in hopes to see some exciting news. About the last place anyone would expect to hear trade knowledge that no one else yet knows is within a Call of Duty: Warzone match, but that apparently is what just happened.

Recently a Call of Duty: Warzone player jumped into a multiplayer match with randoms for a good time. Little did they know that they would hear information about NFL trade news in the background. After hearing information about a "deal" and doing some digging, it appears that this player was juggling shooting enemies in Warzone while also listening to a possible deal going down in the background between the Pittsburgh Steelers and a player for the Chicago Bears.

Reddit user u/ProbationOfficer2035 recently posted a very interesting thread on r/nfl. They claim that they were playing with a female random teammate in Call of Duty: Warzone, one of the biggest battle royales in existence. In the background, they could hear information about things like "love to play in Pittsburgh," "sign a three-year deal," and "facilitate a trade."

Being extremely curious, u/ProbationOfficer2035 asked the Warzone gamer what was happening in the background (as the two were perhaps taking advantage of the double XP Call of Duty weekend). Reluctantly she admitted that the person in the background was her husband and that he was an NFL player. After doing some digging, he found out that the player in question may be offensive guard Rashaad Coward for the Chicago Bears.

Almost immediately after this story was posted on r/nfl, Rashaad Coward tweeted a very simple "Gods Plan #thankful" Tweet, indicating that perhaps a move may be taking place. If it were true, Coward would be joining Joe Haeg as another new Steelers player on the offensive line this offseason. Coward started his career as a defensive player but was converted over to offensive guard midway through his career.

It should be noted that this story should be taken with a football field filled with grains of salt, as this information is far from confirmed at this time. If the trade were to come true, u/ProbationOfficer2035 (who is a Greenbay Packers fan, the rival of the Bears) would become a legend in the Reddit community, as the post is sitting at almost 18,000 upvotes at the moment. Meanwhile, Call of Duty: Warzone would become even more renowned for an entirely different reason. As far as NFL insiders, it would be very interesting to see them beaten to the punch by a Call of Duty: Warzone player about an NFL trade.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
