Call of Duty: Warzone is preparing for the launch of Season 5, which will introduce a bundle of new content. Along with operators, weapons, map updates, and an evolving story, fans get an extra unexpected addition to their loadout selections. Call of Duty: Warzone continues to grow with every update, but this will be the first time that new perks have appeared in the game.

While Call of Duty: Warzone did integrate with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the titles did not merge their perk lists. The options in Call of Duty: Warzone are the same as its Modern Warfare release, but that is about to change. With perks offering a level of individuality to each class build, fans now have two new options to select when building their loadouts.

Call of Duty: Warzone's Season 5 update adds in new perk selections with some minor adjustments. These new perks are completely unique to Call of Duty: Warzone and designed for the large-scale encounters that happen on the Verdansk battlefield. Titled Combat Scout and Tempered, the perks are designed to change how the operators interact with intel and Armor in the game. Combat Scout gives players a burst of in-field intel that can benefit the player and their squad. Any enemy shot while this perk is active will be highlighted and automatically pinged.

Tempered affects the way Armor values operate within Call of Duty: Warzone. While Tempered is active, Armor plates are heavier and more reinforced for battle. Fans can become "fully armored" on only two plates, allowing each plate to absorb 75 points of damage as opposed to the standard 50. This change sacrifices the player's second perk slot, but it does allow plates to stretch further for long engagements.

Perks can only be claimed in Call of Duty: Warzone by interacting with a loadout drop on the map. While these perks offer a minor advantage to players, many fans are curious as to whether it will shake the game's meta selection. Ghost and Cold-Blooded are two very popular perks in the title, and these new perks could be a viable alternative to the meta standard.

These are only some of the Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 changes coming to the game. While Call of Duty: Warzone is still a growing title, this new season seems to be changing direction and exploring new avenues of content to shake up the game experience. It is unclear what the effect of these changes will be, but many fans are prepared to test out these perks and see their viability on the battlefield.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
