With many Call of Duty: Warzone players active in the battle royale game every day, it does not take long for new easter eggs and secrets to be uncovered. The latest discovery may be a bit more special that the usual finds, however, as Call of Duty: Warzone fans believe it is teasing a new map.

In Call of Duty: Warzone, players can find several pieces of intel that detail the game’s world and characters. Usually found rather quickly, the intel items are normally aimed only at those interested in the lore of the Call of Duty series — though all players may be interested in the latest document discovered. As shown in a brief video from reputable leaker TheGamingRevolution, one Rebirth Island document mentions Mt. Yamantau.

Aside from being a nod to a memorable location from the original Black Ops and the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War campaign, Yamantau is one of several leaked Call of Duty: Warzone locations. Joining the Duga, Forest, Russia, and Ski Slopes locations in the game’s files, players have been expecting either fresh area or an entirely new map for some time now. According to TheGamingRevolution, it will be the latter, and the map will supposedly be about the same size as Verdansk.

Merging all of the Fireteam Dirty Bomb maps into one location, players will be able to travel from Mt. Yamantau to the Sanatorium location via bikes, helicopters, or through water — an interesting touch since boats and swimming are not available in Verdansk. According to TheGamingRevolution, who provides a drawn-up map as to what this “Ural Mountains” map will supposedly look like, iconic multiplayer map remakes such as Summit and Downhill are possible, fitting perfectly into the ski slopes area.

A swampy area will also supposedly be added to the map, as well as a Chernobyl-inspired location being seen in the Duga area of the map. Ural Mountains certainly sounds like it has the right amount of variety needed for a battle royale map to work, and it could be the breath of fresh air that Call of Duty: Warzone players need. Aside from the new Rebirth Island easter egg, leaked code, and a reputable source sharing the information, this map would be made up of Fireteam maps in a similar way to how Verdansk is made of Ground War maps.

It certainly seems like a full new battle royale map is coming, and according to TheGamingRevolution, it will be out by March — coinciding with the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone’s anniversary. As such, fans of Call of Duty: Warzone should not have to wait much longer for a change of scenery.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
