Infinity Ward recently introduced 4-man squads, also known as Quads, to Call of Duty: Warzone. 4-player squads is a staple in major battle royale games, but is a change from Call of Duty: Warzone's typical Trios mode that was paused to start Season 3. Always up for a challenge, a squad of competitive Call of Duty players took the opportunity to put Quads to the test. The result was the setting of an insane Warzone record for total kills in a single match.

The squad included Nimble, Lymax, Zepa, and micha, all four of which play Call of Duty competitively. Zepa, a pro player from Australia, shared a screenshot of the match scoreboard from the end of the game. The team managed to accrue 100 total kills, a staggering total by any metric. That's around 2/3 of the total number of players in a single match taken out by this one squad alone. While Call of Duty: Warzone doesn't track these kinds of records, it's certainly something those players can be proud of.

Setting records for kills in Warzone isn't a new thing for this squad, as they've also set the record for kills in Trios, too. The first time they set the records was March 17, a week after launch, with 78 kills. The trio broke their own record on April 1, raising it up to 85. Lymax, Zepa, and micha were part of that Trio, with Nimble joining for the Quad record.

If the record for Trios is 85, it just goes to show how much more powerful a fourth player added makes the group. Though, to be fair, just 15 additional kills when most of the squad is hitting 25-32 kills, seems low. The Warzone squad clearly has the potential to do even better, and they're not the only ones. Another group is already claiming to have scored 113 kills.

To be fair, not every kill in Call of Duty: Warzone means one player has been eliminated entirely from the match. Players can win fights in the Gulag to reenter the game, or can be bought back by teammates. In every match, there are many more kills than just those who entered the match.

One interesting thing to consider is that Quads may be a limited-time event in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Quads was released with Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3, and there's no word whether it's going to be permanent or not. It may be a Season 3-only feature or it may not even last that long, so squads aiming for the record may be on a timer.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
