Call of Duty: Warzone's development team has released an update for the popular battle royale title. In this update, the developers improved several known problems and helped balance out parts of the game. In addition to general maintenance, Call of Duty: Warzone's development team took the time to tease some interesting Modern Warfare weapon changes and an extra surprise.

Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War may have integrated, but that does not mean that the two games share all their updates and content. There are many Call of Duty: Modern Warfare weapons and attachments that remain exclusive to the Warzone environment, but that may be changing. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War may be getting its own version of a popular Modern Warfare sniper attachment.

In the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War patch notes, the developers left a message under the changes for the Combat Recon barrels. In this note, the developers revealed that they will continue to assess Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War snipers and their place in Warzone. They seem to be planning improvements for the sniper options, the attachments, and several other details regarding their operation. What has caught fans' attention is a note stating that Raven Software may "see a Cold War equivalent to an immensely popular Modern Warfare sniper attachment." While it is unknown exactly what attachment Raven is referring to, it is exciting to know that Modern Warfare options may be updating the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War armory selection.

It is unknown exactly what Call of Duty: Modern Warfare attachment Raven Software is referencing, but there is potential for it to affect any number of snipers. Call of Duty: Warzone has sniper attachments to adjust the rifles for almost any situation, and adapting those attachments to Cold War weapons can open more paths in versatility.

Considering the placement of the note, Call of Duty: Warzone may be receiving new optic options for Cold War weaponry. There are several Call of Duty: Modern Warfare long-range optics that are not available for their Cold War counterparts, and these may be giving the original rifles a distinct advantage.

Fans will have to wait for the next Call of Duty: Warzone update for answers, but there are several theories in the works. Many fans suggest that the new adjustment comes side by side with the CARV .2 loadouts, and the developers may be attempting to preemptively balance the new weapon.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
