After months of rumors that a mobile version of Call of Duty: Warzone was being planned by Activision, the game was officially confirmed last week. While it could be a bit before it releases, a reputable leaker has revealed that the Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile map will be familiar.

Some fans have been hoping that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile would feature Verdansk, as the classic map has been missed by many since Caldera replaced it in the main game. With Verdansk being the main play space for a year and a half, and receiving two versions over that time, it is not too surprising that many miss the fictional country. Fortunately for fans of Verdansk, it seems like Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will indeed be bringing a version of the map back.

The leak comes from @TheGhostOfHope, a source that has shared plenty of accurate information about the Call of Duty series prior to it becoming official. As such, though all leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, this particular leaker has a good enough track record that their claims can be trusted. Intriguingly, while they do say that Verdansk is coming back, they make sure to clarify that it will not be the same exact version of the map that was seen on consoles. Supposedly, Verdansk will be changing in some significant ways.

Per @TheGhostOfHope, this specific version of Verdansk will be a “mash up” of old and new points of interest. No details have been provided on what points of interest will be returning or which new areas will be coming to Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile’s Verdansk, though the idea that it will be a mix of old and new should please most gamers. In a reply to someone in the comments, the insider states that the “graphics look solid”, indicating that the mobile port should prove to be impressive from a graphical standpoint.

Another leaker, @just4leaks2, pointed out that the hiring image for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile seemingly features the remixed Verdansk map. The leaker also claims that there is a 2022 release window for the mobile title, though they do warn that this should be taken with a grain of salt since the game is still in development and plans could change. Regardless, those tired of Caldera should be pleased to see that Call of Duty: Warzone is not using the Pacific Island map as its play space.

While Call of Duty: Warzone fans do not have details about gameplay yet, insiders claiming that Verdansk will be used is exciting. Since it may be some time before more official info is shared, for now fans will have to rely on leaks and rumors like this.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is currently in development.
