A Call of Duty: Warzone player spotted a missile heading over the Stadium region of the Warzone map yesterday. Now, some people believe that it may have something to do with Warzone's upcoming Season 5. However, this may not actually be the case, as while the missile has appeared for some, it hasn't for others, and those who've seen it once haven't been able to again.

The first sighting of the missile was reported over on the Warzone subreddit by user DavidWurgy. It's hard to make out the visual with a surface glance, so Wurgy took care to zoom in on the object when presenting it. For anyone who has trouble seeing it in the picture below, it's the white line appearing in his weapon's crosshairs.

Most believe that the missile will impact with the Stadium and open it up to the public. As it stands right now, the Stadium has been inactive on the Warzone map, existing more as a speedbump than anything else since players can't enter it. But recent rumors and even official teases from the Call of Duty Twitter account suggests that the Stadium area in Warzone will be explorable come Season 5.

Some think the missile will be what causes Warzone's Stadium to open up because of its location over it and because it's reminiscent of a famous Fortnite event. Back during Season 3 of Fortnite, Epic Games put a meteor in the sky over the map, and when Season 4 arrived, it crashed it into Dusty Depot, turning the spot into a new location called Dusty Divot.

Should this missile be real and not a graphical glitch, it's unlikely Warzone's developers will use it to destroy the Stadium like Fortnite did Dusty Depot. The missile will probably just damage the Stadium enough to let people inside. Season 5 will be making changes to the Warzone map — such as the possible addition of loot trains — and the missile could be just another part of the shakeup.

Other things are happening on the map as well. Players have been finding things like secret bunkers. There's also some evidence that Warzone is moving away from its association with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to Call of Duty Black Ops, possibly in preparation for a potential Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War reveal. There's less than a week left before Warzone Season 5 kicks off on August 5, so there's not much of a wait left before we find out what happens.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
