Call of Duty: Warzone will be receiving additional game mode options for the popular BR experience. Warzone fans will have a chance to participate in what Activision has coined a "Mini Royale." This unique version of the game comes with some familiar themes, but also makes some massive changes to the BR formula.
The announcement was made in the official Activision Blog. With Warzone Season 5 only hours away fans are finally being given straight answers to upcoming content. Prepare for an epic twist on the BR experience mixed with some other important updates to the overall game performance.
The new game mode is being called a "Mini Royale," in which players can take part in a BR experience at a smaller scale. Enjoy a reduced number of operators in Verdansk and a faster overall game experience. Most games will hold only the first and last five minutes of a normal BR game mode, forcing players to deploy rapidly and move constantly. This game favors high-kills strategies and offers cans a chance to enjoy a BR game mode that is short, sweet, and to the point. Mix this with new Season 5 weapons and players will find an explosive game mode.
Although a short game mode might seem appealing, some fans worry that shorter matches will result in a BR styled Modern Warfare Multiplayer experience. By shortening the scavenge time and the overall game time of the match, Infinity Ward risks losing valued features that are intrinsic to the BR experience.
Where BRs tend to be more paced and strategic in operation, a "Mini Royale" may turn the game mode into a meat grinder. As long as Activision does not replace the core BR option with the "Mini Royale," fans believe it will be a success as the fast-paced alternative does appeal to a more adrenaline focused segment of the game's community.
Strategies for survival will favor fans who are used to fast drops, high populated zones, and constant moving across the map. If fans do not have a chance to gear up properly, they will not make it in this match, leaving only the fast and decisive a chance to victory under these conditions. There are tons of other features coming to Warzone, including a moving train, new map sections, and weapon options for fans to enjoy. The "Mini Royale" will allow fans to sample everything at once, and challenge them to try and survive in full confrontations that many players would avoid if possible.
