Call of Duty: Warzone fans will take any advantage they can get inside of a match, with exploits being a prime example of this mentality. One Call of Duty: Warzone strategy sees players picking up kills right as a match begins, and one player has put an interesting spin on this trick.
Most Call of Duty: Warzone players will be familiar with the scenario where players are shot down before they land. In every match, there is at least one person doing this, and gamers will either dealing the damage themselves or be on the receiving end of some mid-air gunfire. While this usually only leads to broken armor, it can also see unlucky players knocked into a downed state.
Reddit user aowbsx shared a similar clip, though their method for the kill was a bit different. While parachuting into Verdansk 84, the player set their sights on someone in front of them. Deciding that they would try to shoot them out of the sky, aowbsx cuts their parachute and fires a few pistol shots at their opponent. As they fall below their foe, the would-be victim turns back toward them to continue the fight. They come right down in front of aowbsx, causing the Redditor to panic.
Both players cut their parachutes, freefalling as they fire pistol shots into one another. Perfectly fitting of the 80s Action Heroes event that is currently happening in the game, the moment looks like something right out of a movie. With the warring players so close to each other, and aowbsx beginning to panic as they run out of ammo, the player thinks on their feet. Moving closer to the other player, they deliver a few melee attacks with the butt of their pistol. Sure enough, the last-ditch effort works, and the enemy is downed.
As the meleed player hits the ground, aowbsx pulls their parachute. The clip ends with them gliding safely, and a debate quickly broke out in the comments. While most agreed that the kill was impressive, some took issue with aowbsx firing first. Citing the action as cheap and calling those that get these early kills “scum,” Redditors like Tehgumchum mare their stance clear. However, these complaints were countered by others saying that there is nothing wrong with the action. Comparing it to bigger problems like Call of Duty: Warzone’s trucks, some feel it is fair game due to the skill required.
While players are divided on the fairness of the kill, it would not have been possible without Call of Duty: Warzone’s powerful pistol melee. With players wanting to see the speedy attack nerfed, this thrilling clip could be used as more proof that handgun melee is a bit too deadly.
