While there are a lot of things players can do in Call of Duty: Warzone to give themselves an advantage, dodging is not one of them. Despite this, one Call of Duty: Warzone player has managed to pull off a miraculous dodge at just the right moment.

With a new entry in The Matrix series just releasing, the moment happened at the perfect time. The person that shared the video, TikTok user ritoreef, made sure to include some nods to The Matrix to make the connection more obvious. Morpheus’ line “he’s beginning to believe” is included in the upper left corner, with the quote itself heard in the background. The clip even ends with the surprised monkey meme, making it more entertaining.

The start of the Call of Duty: Warzone clip sees the TikTok user spectating in a solo match. They find themselves watching a player with a Sniper Rifle, who spots an enemy in the distance near the storm. With open space in front of them and a fair amount of distance to risk taking a shot, the player readies their Sniper Rifle and lines up a headshot. As they fire their weapon, they are surely expecting a kill - but that is not what happens.

The Call of Duty: Warzone player being targeted manages to dodge out of the way right when the bullet is about to hit them, something that requires incredible luck. For starters, they were being shot at by a Sniper, not an LMG or slow firing weapon - meaning that the bullet fired had a lot of velocity behind it. Further, their bullet dodge was not a quick jump away or a crouch; their character simply moved their head by themselves, with the game essentially willing the player to live. As such, many have been quick to call the surviving player The Chosen One.

By combining a popular game, classic movie, and funny meme together in one clip, ritoreef had the perfect recipe for a viral TikTok video. With so many eyes on the footage, it is not too shocking that pro players like @Swagg and @JaredFPS have been discussing the clip on social media as well. So far, the popular consensus for why the player’s character randomly dodged is that they took damage from the storm at the perfect time. By taking a hit from the gas, the player’s Call of Duty Operator recoiled in pain, doing so right when the Sniper fired their shot.

With players having no real control over when their character leans, it is unlikely that players will be encountering Neo in their Call of Duty: Warzone matches. Still, at least The Matrix fans will always have this viral video to appreciate.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
