Activision and Treyarch have announced the upcoming Haunting of Verdansk event for Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare. This upcoming Halloween special starts on October 20th and will continue to run until November 3rd. As it that spooky time of year, two famous killers will be appearing as skins ready to drop into Warzone during a haunted Verdansk.
Jigsaw and Leatherface will be leaving their respective franchises and coming together in a haunted jack-o-lantern filled Call of Duty event. The skins complement the spooky aesthetic that the entire map of Verdansk has embraced and will be available through the in-game store.
These two killers are famous among horror movie fans as two of the goriest killers out there. Although there are several alternatives the developers could have chosen, none fit the Warzone design as well as Jigsaw and Leatherface. Jigsaw is known for his intricate traps and carefully planned operations. The iconic doll mask has become only more terrifying when scaled to human proportions and the killer is set to unleash his plans upon Verdansk. Meanwhile, Leatherface has a much more direct approach. Rather than wielding a large chainsaw, this monstrosity is taking up firearms for his hunting practice. The famed murderer and master tanner will be stalking the streets of Warzone's Haunted Verdansk in search of his next set of victims.
To be clear, these are just skins that are being added to the game. Players will be able to purchase Saw and Texas Chainsaw Massacre bundles through the in-game shop alongside several other cosmetic options. There will be additional horror-themed packs in addition to these two iconic villains, but none are predicted to be as complete as theirs.
The Saw bundle will include Billy the Puppet skin for Morte, the Phlebotomizier Lethal Equipment piece, a unique throwing knife that drills targets upon impact, and two SAW-themed blueprints for weapons. One is an assault rifle, the other a shotgun and they come with a small little tricycle charm along with some other personalization options.
As for Leatherface, this crazed killer's pack will be including the Leatherface skin for Velikan along with the "Family Heirloom" LMG blueprint. This comes with a unique Stock that allows the weapon to be wielded as if it was a chainsaw. The bundle will also include the "Anybody Home?" melee blueprint which turns a secondary into a hammer, and SMG blueprint, and five other assorted items themed to the killer's movie.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
