Cheating has been a topic of conversation in the Call of Duty: Warzone community since the game's launch. Aimbots, wallhacks, and many other methods of cheating become hard to contain and even harder to remove. Activision has moved forward with massive ban waves in the Warzone community, but little has changed.

Dealing with a constantly evolving threat can be difficult. It is hard to know exactly how hackers are operating and even harder to effectively stop them. Several months ago, a known modder and cheater posted on Reddit advice on how to limit hackers in Modern Warfare and Warzone, and now the cheater has returned with even more words of wisdom.

Although this particular hacker does not cheat or mod in Call of Duty, they have noticed that the hackers are using similar programs. Out of love for the franchise, he has decided to give the developers another round of pointers on how to counter hacking within Warzone, as cheaters are out of control. He starts to assess what Activision has done so far to prevent hackers and points out the ineffective nature of both kill cam reports and simply telling players to stop.

His advice then goes into the three main signs that a player is cheating. The first sign is their kill count, as most cheaters will have an unusually high score per minute on a specific weapon. The second is the number of headshots per kill on the account. Most aimbots aim for the head, as some Call of Duty players are painfully aware, automatically.

The first main solution would be vote-kicking. If a certain threshold is passed, hacking players could get kicked from the game and placed back in the lobby. Even with a modded menu, the cheater claims that lobby kicks will still apply. His recommendation is for spectator cams to allow players a chance to vote hackers out of a game. This should only apply if the player is acting suspiciously through the kill count or headshot counts.

With an example image, the hacker points out how hard it is to actually kill a hacker. Aimbots are bad but "ESP" hacks are worse, as they give extra information to a player. When it comes to killing a hacker, the best bet is to use explosives or run as far as possible and let another team deal with it. Riot shields are also effective as the hacker can not aim through it. Distract the hacker and let teammates finish them off.

Hackers will continue to adapt and change their strategy, so the best deterrent is to give the power to players and allow the community a chance to fight back. If the developers and players can make it more difficult for hackers to have fun, they will leave for a less secure game.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
