After a short delay, Infinity Ward released the weekly Call of Duty: Warzone update to the masses. The update mainly added new guns to Warzone, including the controversial 725 shotgun, but it seems to have caused some new bugs as well. One of these bugs gives players a significant advantage when fighting others in the Gulag.

Reddit user Kasperinoz posted a clip of a recent Gulag match they had in Call of Duty: Warzone where they were able to pick up some extra guns off the ground, along with some cash. Since Gulag matches intend for both players to have the same exact guns and equipment, this in turn gave Kasperinoz a huge advantage in the match. Kasperinoz wasn't sure if more guns were added to the Gulag as part of the recent Warzone update, but other users confirmed this to be a glitch and not an intentional feature.

It's possible that this glitch was in the game before the latest Warzone update, but that's unclear at the time of this writing. As for what causes the glitch, the running theory is that it happens when a player still in the match dies too close to the Gulag. For those who may not realize this, the Gulag is a physical location on the Warzone map that players can access even before they die and are sent inside of it.

The Gulag 1v1 respawn system has earned a ton of praise from fans since release, but this glitch will no doubt sour some on it. After all, part of the appeal of the Gulag is that it's a one on one fight with an even playing field. One player being able to get guns that aren't meant to be in the match heavily weighs the odds in their favor, and ruins the Gulag's balance.

Hopefully, this glitch is fixed sooner rather than later. Infinity Ward releases new updates for Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare on a weekly basis, so a fix for this glitch could come any week. However, Warzone fans may be more interested in other new updates that the studio will be releasing in the future besides just bug fixes.

A recent datamine has confirmed that Warzone duos and quads are on the way, along with a slew of other new modes for fans of the battle royale game to try. Here's hoping this new content is added without any major bugs rearing their head.
