Call of Duty: Warzone is currently undergoing a huge change, as the original version of Verdansk has been nuked out of existence. When the new map does arrive, Call of Duty: Warzone fans can expect it to bring a new Gulag along with it — and the arena is based off a classic map.

Players can see the teaser via the Rebirth From The Ashes website, which is currently the main source of information and the tool being used to progress the ARG. When asked to enter a code, inputting Paradigm will pull up an image of the new Gulag area. The arena keeps the makeshift design seen in the other Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War-themed Gulags, with wooden buildings, thin cover, and broken down vehicles seen throughout the location.

An image of the new Gulag was shared by CharlieINTEL, and it took no time at all for fans to realize that the latest design was based on a fan favorite multiplayer map. Similar to how players could fight in the Nuketown Gulag, they will now be able to fight through a small-scale version of Standoff. The signature tank and some loose bit of cover can be seen in the streets of the map, which will seemingly serve as the main play space for this fresh Gulag arena.

While the main and side building from the Standoff map can be seen, they look to be mostly off limits. It does seem like players can climb into the open space of the side building’s top floor, however, providing a unique twist on certain fights. As for where they will be spawning in, it seems like Call of Duty: Warzone fans will start in one of the two corners of the map. This forces both players to engage, as each will start off around a bend. It also eliminates issues in previous Gulags where players could be killed instantly.

Seeing Standoff reimagined in Call of Duty: Warzone should be plenty of fun for fans of the original map, and it will actually be the second time that Standoff is seen this Season. In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, a fully remastered version of the original map is set to be added. Based on the image shown, it keeps the same exact visual style of the original, ensuring that the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War version of Standoff delivers in the same way that the original did back in 2012.

Seeing so much Standoff-related content in a single Season is interesting, and this new Gulag looks like it will be plenty of fun. Provided that Call of Duty: Warzone’s servers can handle everyone logging in to explore the new Verdansk, this Gulag should be seen in action later today.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
