Since the free-to-play Call of Duty: Warzone launched last year, it has been under siege from cheaters, hackers, and a barrage of bugs that undermine the popular experience. While Activision and its studios like Raven Software continue to fight back against the rising hacker tide, bugs and glitches continue to be a major part of the game, with new issues seemingly appearing with each season. While some are more frustrating than anything else such as the failed double XP weekend event, there's been more than a few bugs which have proven to be game breaking.
Late last year, Rebirth Island had a number of major issues once it released, allowing players to hide inside a wall to pick off players as well as giving players unlimited revives, essentially undermining the whole point of a battle royale. Players have also found ways to escape under the map, giving them a way to take out their opponents while being safe from taking any return damage from other players. Now, a newly discovered glitch allows players to interrupt Gulag matches.
The latest glitch comes from NTrippy who shows off how to essentially interrupt Gulag matches while waiting for his turn. While inside the Gulag, NTrippy cuts out the portion of him activating the glitch, instead showing the aftermath of parachuting into the arena while two players are already dueling one another. While only able to use rocks, NTrippy is invulnerable to damage as the game assumes he is still above the arena watching. However, NTrippy is free to melee the players in the arena and essentially stealing a kill by meleeing one of the combatants.
For now, the steps on how to recreate this glitch remain hidden. However, with how popular it has become across social media since its discovery, it appears to only be a matter of time before the steps are posted online. In fact, NTrippy mentioned that he'll post how to do it in a couple days. For the moment, it appears that Raven Software now has limited time on fixing this Call of Duty: Warzone bug before it becomes a wider spread issue and causes chaos in the Gulag.
For now, Activision appears to be intent on putting down the constantly rising hacker and cheater problem which has been part of the Call of Duty: Warzone for much longer than players would like. With hacks continuing to evolve, Activision is attempting to stop cheaters at the source by having advertisements and YouTube channels who promote such hacks taken down completely. While ban waves continue to appear inside of the game often, Activision appears to be hoping to prevent users from locating such cheats in the first place.
