Call of Duty: Warzone fans constantly discuss the effects of Skill-Based Matchmaking impacting their games. While SBMM's goal is to pair players based on relative skill, it can easily result in in-game modes feeling more competitive than they should. Still, SBMM in Warzone can serve a purpose when matching players of a less than professional tier.

While high-skilled players find matches filled with competitive and difficult Warzone opponents, the lesser end of the spectrum finds a more unintended side effect. As players are matched by skill, some fans have to wonder what happens to those negative KD pros that appear in every game mode.

The answer may have been found in a clip captured by majortohm on Reddit. While spectating one of his Warzone squadmates in the Gulag, he was able to capture a rather funny and unusual set of events. Armed with a pistol, his teammate rushes forward to find their opponent. The player peeks corners, carefully aims with ADS, and makes his way to the other side of the Gulag only to find his opponent doing the exact same thing. The two players fire off a few rounds and miss completely, before returning to cover and instinctively throwing their tactical grenades and repositioning. As majortohm's teammate rushes the enemy position, several shots can be heard ringing from the opponent's pistol, only to miss completely as the player makes it to another wall for cover.

The teammate unloads a few rounds in response before chasing after the enemy and quickly losing sight of them. Suddenly they come out from behind a shower, so he fires off two more shots, missing completely before the match simply ends, booting both players out of the game and giving them a Warzone loss in the Gulag.

The ending is a result of an in-game timer meant to stop extended matches from interfering with the overall progress of a Warzone match. The fact that neither of the combatants could land a shot is seen as hilarious by many as they seem to fumble the entire encounter. To make this clip even funnier, the post's author hid his friend's name with a picture of a potato.

While this clip is most likely just a bad night for his buddy, it makes for some great entertainment for fans on the Call of Duty Reddit. There are several ways that the entire fight could have gone, but the cat and mouse game that resulted blew away anyone's expectations.
