A new update brought back popular multiplayer game modes, but Call of Duty: Warzone fans got a separate surprise. Although the patch did fix several issues, it seems to have generated an unexpected glitch that is quickly becoming a game-breaking problem. Call of Duty: Warzone fans are not sure exactly how to counter it, which leaves solutions in the hands of the game's development team.

Players have long had the ability to call in Call of Duty: Warzone loadout drops midgame. These boxes drop much-needed gear for players and crush any players unfortunate enough to be caught below them. Naturally, players dodge loadout boxes, but the update seems to have changed the result of being hit by a large crate.

Call of Duty: Warzone streamer MRKN Steller created a clip showcasing the strange glitch. In the clip, he quickly demonstrates just how broken this glitch has become, as he tears apart several enemies. The glitch affects the mesh of the Loadout crate so that instead of impacting and killing players it simply envelopes them. While inside of the loadout drop, players are seemingly invincible but they can see and shoot people outside the crate. Conversely, enemy players can not see where the bullets are coming from and once they figure it out damage is stopped by the exterior of the box.

This glitch quickly has the potential to become a very serious issue for the Call of Duty: Warzone community. Players can buy loadout drops early, and if they can predict the final circle's general location they can simply camp the entire game inside of a crate.

Loadout drops do cost $10,000 at the Call of Duty: Warzone Buy Station, so it is not the easiest glitch to trigger. Still, active players tend to have tons of cash near the end of the game, which can easily be exploited for multiple crates in a party scenario.

Infinity Ward has not addressed the Call of Duty: Warzone glitch yet and it is unclear how many members of the community are aware of the problem. As word spreads the need to fix this glitch will no doubt continue to grow in urgency,  but until then players should simply avoid conspicuous crates located in the final circle of their Call of Duty: Warzone match.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
