While Call of Duty: Warzone fans have many options at their disposal when it comes to perks, none are as important as Ghost. Unfortunately, Ghost has not been functioning properly inside the battle royale game for a long time now - though Raven Software has told Call of Duty: Warzone fans that a fix is imminent.

When working as intended, there are few tools available to Call of Duty: Warzone players that can match the effectiveness of the Ghost perk. The perk is meant to keep players off the radars of enemies, meaning that if UAVs are called in, they will not detect someone with the perk equipped. However, Ghost has not been working as intended, with several gamers sharing clips that prove it is broken and fails to shroud them from UAVs on occasion.

The most high-profile example of the Ghost bug came a few months back, and it saw the glitched item bringing an unfair conclusion to a Call of Duty: Warzone tournament. Twitch streamer Jessie Cooks posted a TikTok video of the perk malfunctioning, with the player’s team losing in a tournament because their position showed up on an enemy UAV. They were using Ghost, however, making the clop clear evidence of the problem at hand. Fortunately, a fix is imminent, meaning that gamers will need to be a bit less wary of UAVs soon.

Raven Software Tweeted out that it is aware of the issue, adding that a fix is in the works for this frustrating bug. The developer provides no ETA for when the Ghost fix will go through, though it will likely arrive sooner rather than later, as it is marked “scheduled” on the Trello page. As mentioned in the follow-up Tweet, the fix will apply to both public and private matches. As such, not only will players participating in Tournaments be safe, but those hopping into regular online matches should be free from the issue as well.

Still, it is important to note that this Call of Duty: Warzone bug still exists in the live game. While a patch did drop yesterday, it only fixed minor issues and added Iron Trials back to private matches. For now, players will want to be on the lookout for UAVs since there is a chance Ghost could not work, leaving players unprotected from the radar pings.

Hopefully, this fix will carry over to Call of Duty: Warzone’s Pacific map, as it remains to be seen if UAVs will be kept around or if they will be changed to a Spy Plane model that better fits the aesthetic. Still, fans should be happy to know that Ghost will soon be working properly inside Verdansk and Rebirth Island.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
