Call of Duty: Warzone players are no stranger to bugs and glitches, as the battle royale game has certainly had its fair share over the years. However, Call of Duty: Warzone players believe that a new issue is tied directly to the game’s Ghost perk.

This is not the first issue with Ghost that players have reported. On several occasions, gamers have shown that the perk does not seem to be protecting them from heartbeat sensors. With it designed to keep gamers off all radars, fans were understandably disappointed to see themselves appearing on heartbeat sensors in killcams. While Raven Software has stated that this is a visual bug, and players are not actually being spotted on the heartbeat sensors, it is hard to argue that the latest problem with Ghost is in players’ heads.

Twitch streamer Jessie Cooks, or @jessiejadecooks on Twitter, shared her frustration with the Call of Duty: Warzone perk. Cooks labels the game as "broken," sharing a video that her and her team had Ghost equipped. However, they are still detected by the enemy team’s UAV, with the other squad taking them down since they are aware of their positioning. A frustrating moment, the streamer called on the help of YouTuber and Call of Duty: Warzone expert JGOD to get some answers.

While JGOD has been quick to disprove and prove several glitches reported by other players, he seems just as confused as anyone else by this situation. He includes links to the streams from both sides, with opposing team members like MuTeX and HusKerrs having their points of view shown off as well. All the clips have been “rewatched” by JGOD a few times, yet he still believes that the moment “makes no sense.” As of now, though, one of his theories is that this is simply a bug with the game’s private match system.

After tagging developer Raven Software, JGOD offers another theory, which would be that second loadout perks are ignored in private matches. If this is the case, it would explain why Ghost does nothing for the team, though several commenters say that Restock still works if it is a second perk. As such, it may be an issue with Ghost itself, and some players have even reported that it has happened to them inside of public matches. While these claims from @Synezthesia and others do lack video, making them hard to prove, there is a possibility that Ghost is broken outside of private matches as well.

Regardless, what is clear is that the perk’s shortcomings have ruined a Call of Duty: Warzone tournament. Hopefully, Raven Software will be able to pin down whatever the issue is with Ghost so that something similar does not happen in the future.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
