The Season 5 update for Call of Duty: Warzone showed that it was possible for new loadout items exclusive to the battle royale game to be added. As such, Call of Duty: Warzone fans are pushing for a new field upgrade to come next.

Two Call of Duty: Warzone perks were recently added to the game, with Combat Scout and Tempered joining the lineup. In the case of Combat Scout, shot enemies are automatically pinged, letting foes remain tagged without players needing to mark them manually. As for Tempered, the perk makes it so players require less armor to get fully protected, ensuring that players have more plates ready to go for later fights. While these two perks have been divisive, the fact that they were added at all has fans optimistic about the future.

Just like Combat Scout and Tempered were original ideas not seen in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019, fans are calling for another addition to their arsenals. This time around, they want to see an original field upgrade, citing the campaign of the Modern Warfare reboot as the main source of inspiration. Reddit user Eleemax is responsible for getting the discussion started, as they posted a clip from the campaign that sees a ladder being extended and placed up against the window.

In the clip, the player is seen aiming through the window before climbing through, a mechanic that would make this an incredibly useful field upgrade. As mentioned in the post’s title, Call of Duty: Warzone players want to see this ladder added so that they can flank campers. While some players will aim down steps or rig them with explosives, this Field Upgrade would allow gamers to slip right by the trap and get a sneaky kill on those hiding away. With ziplines easy to watch as well, these ladders could provide a major advantage.

Unsurprisingly, many commenters were supportive of the suggestion, praising Eleemax for their idea. However, a few comments made some interesting points that work against the idea of this new upgrade being added. One user pointed out that these ladders were once intended to be in the game but were ultimately scrapped. Though this is purely speculation, perhaps Raven or Infinity Ward could not get the feature working, leading to it being left behind. The other issue has to do with the buildings in Verdansk 84. As pointed out by Reddit user Urban_animal, players would need a ridiculously big ladder to reach some of the rooftops that players camp on.

With a new Call of Duty: Warzone map coming later this year, perhaps its buildings would be the perfect size for such an addition. For now, though, it is unlikely that these useful ladders will become more than a suggestion..

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
