Tricky shots and imaginative tactics in Call of Duty: Warzone is one of the most impressive ways players flex their gaming ability in the battle royale title. However, while plenty of unconventional tactics in Warzone fail to meet the intended goal, some go above and beyond to defeat their opponents, not only in skill, but by getting in their head.

One player that messed with the mind of their enemy in Call of Duty: Warzone recently posted their success to Reddit, under the username u/Lambeauleap80. As a result, the video of the player's strategy has gained nearly 10,000 upvotes at the time of this writing, all thanks to using a major Warzone feature to their advantage.

At the start of the video, it appears that u/Lambeauleap80 might be outnumbered, or otherwise trapped in a building as an enemy team comes hunting for him. In order to try avoiding being killed, the player then drops to a prone position and begins to drop all of their gear collected through the Warzone round so far onto the ground, giving the illusion that they are dead, as opposed to simply waiting in place. As one of the enemy players starts checking through the gear and picking up the dropped items, u/Lambeauleap80 quickly starts throwing knives and slashing at the opponent, nearly killing them before they are even aware that the body wasn't actually dead.

Viewers coming flocking to the video have already quickly begun discussing trying this exact same technique themselves, some wanting to copy this successful attempt and others sharing their own stories of failing to pull off the act as convincingly. However, it's doubtful that anyone else will be able to beat the reaction from the end of u/Lambeauleap80's video, as the player screams that "he wasn't dead" in the death chat. As a result, the video has seen tons of views already, all without utilizing some top-tier Warzone loadout, or maximizing on an overpowered weapon.

These types of videos often go viral among players for a number of reasons, from the hilarious way it ends with the opponent screaming about being tricked, and the ingenious way the player managed to pull off the kill. This is the type of trickery and strategy that tends to draw in players, as it doesn't utilize unfair tactics, like hacking or modding Warzone for the sake of easy kills and wins, but instead puts creativity on display.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
