Call of Duty: Warzone has had its issues with helicopters in the past, as the game’s attack helicopter was removed on two separate occasions. However, it seems like there are issues with normal helicopters as well, with one Call of Duty: Warzone player showcasing an odd new bug.

While Call of Duty: Warzone helicopters do give players a quick way to get around the map, the traversal option does instantly put gamers at risk due to how easy they are to see. Snipers can take shots at the pilot, while those with launchers can go for an easy multi-kill, keeping pilots on edge. However, it seems like even landing helicopters can now be considered a risk, as one YouTuber has shown off a weird bug on Rebirth Island.

For whatever reason, Call of Duty: Warzone’s popular Rebirth Island map is killing players for landing helicopters in certain areas. YouTuber Rito Rhymes showed a montage of several unfair deaths, with the vehicles exploding out of nowhere if they were taken to certain locations. The helicopters in question had no visible damage and were not coming under fire from gunfire or explosives, so seeing them explode like this is confusing. Based on the footage, players may want to jump out of helicopters instead of trying to land them until a fix is made.

Despite the bug being very frustrating to deal with, especially the first time it happens, the Call of Duty: Warzone player makes a joke out of the issue by playing some classical music in the background. The combination of the song and exploding helicopters makes for an entertaining clip, with Rito Rhymes even using the bug to their advantage at one point in the footage. Getting out of the helicopter before it hits the ground, the vehicle is essentially bait, with it bursting into flames soon after an opponent hops inside.

While it is unclear what is causing this particular Call of Duty: Warzone bug to happen, the issue does seem to be tied to specific portions of Rebirth Island. At the start of the video, Rito Rhymes shows a map with red sections, marking the “death zones” for helicopter pilots to avoid. While the Northern portion of Rebirth is seemingly safe, the areas outside of the Nova 6 Factory, Living Quarters, and Control Center are deadly. If players avoid landing in these zones, they should be safe from the glitch.

While developer Raven Software is currently working on a fix for Call of Duty: Warzone’s Ghost issue, it seems like this is another problem that needs to be addressed. Hopefully, the issue can be solved soon, as players will likely be paranoid about using helicopters until a patch comes.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
