Call of Duty: Warzone has recently seen the discovery of a special new spot that can be reached on Rebirth Island, though a risky jump must be performed first. While plenty of players struggle with the jump using a controller, one Call of Duty: Warzone player managed to make the leap using only a piano.

While it may seem odd to see a Call of Duty player controlling the game using only a keyboard, this is not the first time it has been done. Twitch streamer Deano Beano managed to go on a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare killstreak using a piano, racking up four kills on the musical device. It seems like Deano Beano inspired other players to follow in his footsteps with the killstreak, however, as Redditor grooviehoovie shared a clip of how he used a piano to complete “the jump” on Rebirth Island.

On the Rebirth Island map, players can find a gondola near Alcatraz prison. If players perch on a building to the side of the gondola cars, they can land on top of them, riding the carriages to get a major line of sight on the map and the enemies populating it. Providing a huge tactical advantage, players have made frequent use of the gondola spot, though there is no denying that reaching the spot is a major challenge due to the heavy platforming required.

However, not to be outdone by Deano Beano’s killstreaks with drums and pianos, grooviehoovie took the challenge of “the jump” head-on. Controlling the movement via playing notes on the keyboard is clearly challenging, as the player can be seen quickly jerking left and right as opposed to making methodical turns like with a mouse or analog stick. Clearly requiring skill and practice to even move forward, it is hard not to be blown away when the player succeeds in making the jump.

Like other instrument-using Call of Duty players, grooviehoovie makes the piano work in his favor, crashing onto the top of the yellow gondola. Instantly reacting with an excited “oh my god,” the player clearly had doubts about successfully sticking the landing. While he is unfortunately gunned down upon reaching the prison block roof, the clip is still incredibly impressive and hilarious, with the real victory coming before any bullets were even fired in grooviehoovie’s direction.

It seems that the Call of Duty community has mastered the use of instruments as controllers, with grooviehoovie’s piano-based skills being truly spectacular. Before long, Call of Duty: Warzone fans may need to try earning kills and making leaps using a dance pad, another surprisingly popular alternate controller for gamers seeking an extra challenge.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
