Call of Duty: Warzone players all over the world are groaning in frustration as an infamous bug has made its way back into the game. The gun texture glitch, which makes player weapons appear as large black spiky blobs, seems to have crawled its way back into the battle royale. This bug makes the game unplayable for many Warzone players, especially when everyone thought it was gone for good.

For some backstory, the weapon texture bug first became infamous a few weeks ago when several players reported dying due to not being able to aim their weapons properly. The glitch makes the entire gun show up as a dark spiky mess, completely blocking most of the players’ screens. Gulag matches were lost, entire games were ruined, and players were having a terrible time in the game.

The weapon corruption bug was fixed, at least for a while. Players were able to play matches once more without worrying about their guns blocking their view. While the game still had many other bugs and glitches, this one was huge enough to truly feel noticed when it was gone. It was thought to be gone for good, until recently. Player “MuTeX” shared a video on Twitter of him picking up a sniper rifle only to be met with the glitch once more.

Other players quickly came out with their own stories, some mentioning that they had this happen several times in a single game. As if Warzone players becoming Munitions Boxes wasn’t enough of a texture problem, they now have to contend with this glitch returning to wreck the game.

Gamers are hoping that this bug is patched even faster than it was the first time now that developers know exactly how serious it is. Another visual issue, where a fan showed that a fence allowed players to see through only one side, was quickly met with developer response. It seems that the team is making more of an effort to get these issues out of the game before they ruin too many matches.

A patch is confirmed to be coming in a future Season 5 update, and one thing on the list is the demon gun glitch. Players are hopeful that this particular issue is fixed for good this time, rather than popping back up once another update is added. With how often Warzone gets updates and changes, it isn’t surprising that some issues tend to stick around longer than expected. Hopefully, players can properly aim their weapons again soon.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
