Ever since Call of Duty: Warzone was released in March of 2020, streamer TimTheTatman has been a staunch supporter of the battle royale. With often tens of thousands of fans tuning in to watch him stream, he has one of the largest Warzone followings around. While cheaters and hackers drove away some streamers such as NICKMERCS, TimTheTatman has continued to return to the game. However, recent comments from the streamer have his fan concerned about the future of the title.

In a YouTube video from December 16, TimTheTatman revealed that he was concerned about the future of Warzone. Specifically, he noted that the new Caldera map was to blame for many of the issues impacting the game. While he and many other fans hoped that the new update for the battle royale would be the injection of excitement it needed, it appears that failed to happen.

To help point out the problems with Warzone, TimTheTatman compared Caldera to the previous Verdansk map. According to the YouTuber, he preferred Verdansk because he believed that it had more action. In comparison, Caldera felt slow-paced with fewer encounters. “This new map just feels dead, always,” he remarked. He attributed a major reason for the problems to map design and said that the future of the game was in jeopardy.

Following these remarks about the map, the streamer gave a rather grim prognosis for the battle royale. He claimed that the developers needed to act quickly, or else gamers would likely start leaving Call of Duty: Warzone for other games. “I’m just starting to realize just how chalked Caldera really is,” he said. He continued, noting that the gameplay had lost that Call of Duty feel. According to Tim, he wanted to “full send every game,” but he admitted that the pace of play on Caldera made finding action difficult.

Unfortunately for fans of the battle royale, TimTheTatman is far from the only popular content creator with criticism of the new season. Recently, Call of Duty pro Aydan had similar feelings regarding the map. He believed that something about the map felt wrong, and he claimed that he was frustrated playing the game. In addition, fellow YouTube streamer CouRage revealed that he had uninstalled Warzone because the game was affecting his mental health.

It will be interesting to see how the developers at Raven Software address these concerns from fans and streamers alike. Hopefully, they can find a solution that lets players get back to enjoying the game once more. If not, it seems likely that more gamers will start to leave the battle royale for rival first-person shooters, such as Apex Legends and Halo Infinite.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
