A lot is happening in Call of Duty: Warzone right now. The battle royale game just started Season 4 and with it the next curious chapter in the game's surprisingly captivating story. In Warzone Season 3, players were able to unlock Bunker 11. Within the bunker, a nuclear warhead and evidence of the construction of a nuclear missile. Players always expected Season 4 to escalate the situation, but perhaps not in the way a recent discovery has pointed. Players have found mysterious shadow that's moving around beneath the ice in Warzone's Dam area.

Reddit user Ronny972 was the first to make the discovery, which can be seen by Warzone players right now on the game's live servers. Ronny972 and friends were playing at the top of the damn when a gigantic shadow passed underneath their feet. They then found a helicopter in order to get an aerial view of the ice. It revealed that this oval-shaped shadow passed along the full length of the dam's upper edge under the ice.

Notably, the shadow doesn't only stay under the ice, but enters the ice from under the rocky land to the side of the damn and then exits into the earth on the other side. Warzone players speculate that this could imply that there's a watery tunnel system running through this Dam section of the map.

Some were quick to leap to the conclusion that Warzone has an underwater monster, perhaps due to Fortnite's history with monsters frozen in ice. Others, including Ronny972, said they believed it to be a submarine. A submarine would certainly fit the theme of Warzone a little better than a sea monster. Leakers have been quick to investigate, noting that there are absolutely submarine-related files in Warzone. Whether they're connected to the shadow under the ice remains to be seen.

One final detail Warzone players have discovered is that the submarine's path seems to be in a direct line with Bunker 10. What's inside Bunker 10 was only added with Season 4. For those who haven't heard, there's a live nuclear missile inside of Bunker 10. It's the natural progression for what was discovered in Bunker 11. It's possible this submarine will be picking up the nuclear missile, and maybe even launching it from the top of the dam.

There's clearly a lot yet to happen in the upcoming season or seasons of Call of Duty: Warzone. Players are already expecting a new map change, as well as a potential in-game reveal of the next Call of Duty game. How it all ties in with the nuclear missile, well, players can likely already start making connections. Season 4 is going to be very interesting.
