A long-requested fix is being brought to Call of Duty: Warzone that will repair a rather annoying flaw left over from integration. Fans were initially excited to receive Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War weapons in Call of Duty: Warzone, but upon close inspection, the community noticed a glaring issue. Now the developers are resolving that problem, which should make the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War weapons more effective in battle royale settings.

When players loaded into Call of Duty: Warzone after the integration, they noticed that several Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War weapons had mislabeled attachments. Several content creators have brought this to developer attention through extensive testing, but initially, there was no expected fix. Now, the developers have changed their minds after patching the DMR and MAC-10 meta.

On the official Activision Trello Board, there is now a card reading "CW weapon attachments: Certain attachments are not unlocking or working as intended." As of January 21, this has been tagged with "under investigation," showing that the development team is actively working on a solution. The card was added by Alexis Bath, who is the communications and community manager for Raven Software. Fans are guessing that he saw the many complaints on Reddit and YouTube and decided to implement a fix sooner rather than later.

Call of Duty: Warzone features a detailed Gunsmith system identical to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's. This system allows players to change and augment their weapons using a variety of attachments. Although this is a loved system, fans quickly found out that many Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War attachments did the opposite of what they were supposed to.

A great example is the Stoner 63 Call of Duty: Warzone barrel that adds in extra vehicle damage. While the label says bonus damage, it actually increases bullet velocity and has no damage increase at all. Meanwhile, the Striker Grip on SMGs offers recoil control despite its intention to increase melee damage speed. These are only a few of the many errors that the players have found among Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War attachments.

Thankfully, Raven Software is addressing the unlock glitch in many weapon attachments. While it is annoying to have an attachment mislabeled, many fans consider having it permanently locked to be more of an inconvenience. It is unknown as to when this issue will be fixed, but the game's community is happy that it is at least being worked on for the time being.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
