Since its release in early 2020, Call of Duty: Warzone has not only quickly become one of the biggest battle royales in gaming, but one of the most popular multiplayer games in general. Unfortunately, however, the beloved shooter has become overrun by cheaters. The most recent example of this is an almost comical video of one hacker getting killed by another.

Activision has claimed it will do its best to put an end to cheaters in its shooter. In fact, Raven Studios has banned hundreds of thousands of hackers in Warzone. However, the swindlers still are running rampant in the game. Case-in-point, there are streamers who openly cheat, get banned, come back, and cheat again. And even those cheaters get killed by other cheaters.

Recently, one streamer was playing Call of Duty: Warzone and openly had his wallhacks and aimbot running. The clip, shared by Reddit user DingDingDongDotJPG, reveals that just as he was getting ready to take on a team that he could easily see around the corner through the building thanks to his hacks, he got shot down instantly. Upon reviewing the killcam, it became clear that his killer was also hacking. The person who shot him down had lined up the kill through the wall and mowed him down the moment he turned the corner.

The cheating streamer seemed almost appalled that another hacker was out there, saying "oh he's cheating bro, come on," shaking his head in disbelief claiming that "everybody's cheating in this game." The hope is that this will not be the case for long, as Call of Duty: Warzone will soon have a new anti-cheat system when Call of Duty: Vanguard releases. Currently, the banning system appears to be based on reports, which is much less effective. An anti-cheat system could catch players in the act right away and also ban their IP/system, meaning they won't be able to play or cheat again.

According to comments of the Reddit post in which this cheating streamer's video was shared, the player has openly cheated for quite some time. He also has been banned and easily returned. He also apparently has viewers that ask him to "carry them" to victory, which is an unfortunate aspect of the cheating atmosphere. When cheating is easy and has no legitimate consequences, many start to get tempted into joining. When so much of the lobby seems filled with hackers that are killing and winning with ease, the old adage "if you cannot beat them, join them," seems like a possible and almost only option. The legitimate hope is that the Call of Duty: Warzone and Vanguard bans will shift the tides for this game moving forward in the near future.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
