One of the biggest mysteries in Call of Duty: Warzone right now is the purpose of the bunkers that are found dotted around the battle royale map. In total, there are 11 bunkers that Call of Duty: Warzone players can find, and all of them are locked, requiring a special code to get inside. To date, no one has actually figured out what's inside of the bunkers, but YouTuber S0ur has potentially revealed their intended purpose.

S0ur has discovered that the bunker locations on the Warzone map correspond with 11 "Classified" areas found on Activision's Tac Map for the game. S0ur then used "inspect elements" to dig through the Tac Map's info, and discovered that the bunkers have their own loot stats. More specifically, they are all marked at 120% loot, which would mean that they have better loot than any other place on the map.

Basically, S0ur's work has confirmed what many have assumed the bunkers' purpose to be: they are high-level loot areas. This is similarly to how the vaults work in Apex Legends, though it remains unclear exactly how Warzone players will be able to access the bunkers in the game.

At the time of this writing, it seems to be impossible to open the Warzone bunkers, and it remains to be seen how players will eventually open them. Since they house high-level loot, it's unlikely that every player will be able to get inside the bunkers, and so one has to imagine that the codes will change and will have to be found on the battle royale map. Perhaps the password-locked laptops and the telephones that have also been found on the Warzone map will play a role in getting people inside the bunkers, but that's just speculation at this time.

In the meantime, some Warzone players have managed to glitch inside the bunkers, but that hasn't offered any clues as to how to open them. All that's done is show that right now the Warzone bunkers are empty, and are in fact missing textures, graphics, and more. A future update for Warzone will likely fill out the bunkers, but fans may have to wait for the update that actually makes them accessible.

Infinity Ward releases new Warzone updates on a weekly basis, so it's possible that players will be able to enter the bunkers sooner rather than later.
