Call of Duty: Warzone is one of the most popular games available. The free-to-play title has managed to bring in regular Call of Duty players alongside newcomers in a fun battle royale experience. While many will were not surprised at the game mode's success after the record sales of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot it has required tweaks to keep it engaging. Infinity Ward continues to deliver updates and it seems that the company will be addressing a pretty serious issue in the coming weeks.

The Warzone game mode is a take on the battle royale genre which largely follows the conventions of the genre but adds the mechanics of the Call of Duty games. As a result, many have lauded Warzone as one of the best battle royale games, but some players are finding issues and glitches in the title. Most notably a player drew attention to the fact that shots that should be hurting an opponent were not doing anything.

A Twitter user uploaded a video where they were shooting a largely stationary target with a sniper rifle on Call of Duty: Warzone. Understandably they were frustrated that this had no impact and they were shot by another sniper as a result of their shots not registering. For a game that is built on bullet collision principles, this is a significant issue and co-design director of multiplayer Joe Cecot has now intervened. The Twitter user asked Cecot directly "who do I talk to about this?" and the Infinity Ward staff member was quick to respond with a reassuring message stating, "Looks like miasaligned collision. Reported, thanks!"

While it is reassuring that the team behind the title is reacting to these problems, several comments have asked about other issues that seem to be negatively impacting the game. There are claims of more cheating in Warzone and alongside core functions not working properly some may be discouraged to play the title. While Infinity Ward is addressing issues, it is understandable that fans are becoming frustrated with issues that impact basic gameplay like shooting an opponent.

Call of Duty: Warzone has an impressive roadmap and plenty of content to keep players satisfied but it will need to fix its key aspects if it wants to keep players happy. Many will hope that the issues will be addressed soon and it does seem that Infinity Ward is working as quickly as possible to get ahead of problems.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone are out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
