Call of Duty: Warzone players have certainly dealt with their fair share of glitches, though a new bug will likely be frustrating for anyone on the wrong end of it. The glitch in question sees a Call of Duty: Warzone player stuck floating in the sky, and unfortunately for this unlucky person, they have no way of fighting back.

Anyone that has played Call of Duty: Warzone will surely be familiar with the game’s system for parachutes and sky diving. At the start of a match, players will freefall from planes and helicopters, plummeting toward their landing destination of choice. They can then pull their parachute when they get close to the ground, getting a boost of speed and safely landing without taking any fall damage. However, one player ran into something unfortunate during the landing process.

As shown in a Call of Duty: Warzone clip from Redditor jarstelfox, their enemy is simply floating in the sky. They are not coming any closer to the ground, as they are completely stuck in the air. While one might assume this is just a glitched body, jarstelfox is able to take a shot to check without worrying much about revealing themselves due to their position at the top of a firehouse tower. When they land their shot on the parachuting player, they down them instantly. A follow-up shot then grants them the kill.

As shown in the title of the post, the Call of Duty: Warzone sniper feels bad about picking up the kill. After all, their victim never shot back, as they were defenseless due to the parachute that was holding them in the air. As for why the enemy did not just leave the match earlier, they may have been confused by the bug, hoping it would fix itself over time. Sadly, as pointed out by the post’s title, this does not seem to be the only example of this bug happening inside Verdansk.

While this certainly looks like a connection issue, with the player possibly being in the process of lagging out of the match, one commenter argues otherwise. Redditor kikkeroku states that this same freezing happened to them in Call of Duty: Warzone’s Gulag, adding that their internet connection is always stable. According to the commenter, everything freezes, with unlucky players not seeing anything move at all from their point of view. As such, the issue may be tied to an actual mechanic like the game’s parachutes.

With The Haunting event, an anti-cheat system, and Call of Duty: Warzone’s Pacific map right around the corner, hopefully this bug is fixed soon. After all, the last thing players want to experience when trying out some new content is a game-breaking glitch like this one.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
